“Habitation,” viz., of beings of light (e.g., of the Life, of individual Uthras): by the Mandaeans mostly used in the literal sense, with the connotation of glory as the light-aura surrounding these beings like a dwelling; sometimes, however, also in the personified sense which the term had acquired in Jewish speculation (cf. Mani’s sh’kinas, equivalent to “aeons,” the personified powers surrounding the highest godhead).
