II. Pelo nome de ideia entendo aquela forma de qualquer pensamento por cuja percepção imediata sou cônscio desse mesmo pensamento.

De tal maneira que eu nada possa exprimir com palavras, entendendo o que digo, sem que por isso mesmo seja certo estar em mim a ideia do que é significado com aquelas palavras. E assim, não chamo de ideias as meras imagens pintadas na fantasia; ou melhor, de modo algum as chamo aqui de ideias enquanto estão na fantasia corpórea, isto é, pintadas em alguma parte do cérebro, mas apenas enquanto informam a própria mente voltada para aquela parte do cérebro.

III. Por realidade objetiva da ideia entendo a entidade da coisa representada pela ideia enquanto está na ideia.

E do mesmo modo pode-se dizer perfeição objetiva, ou artifício objetivo, etc.; pois tudo que percebemos como estando nos objetos das ideias está objetivamente nas próprias ideias. [PFCPM]
